Product Overview
The SML-8168F adds switch-port flashing to remote network and telephone cable testing. By selecting cable-test or port-flash mode, technicians can identify wire order, opens, shorts, miswiring, and shield continuity, then locate the connected switch port by observing its indicator.

Use and Safety Limits
Port-flash mode is used with a network switch and its port indicator. PoE burnout protection reduces the risk of damage from accidental connection to a low-voltage network port; it does not mean every energized line can be mapped normally. For an energized check, connect only the main unit. Never connect the remote unit to an energized line. Do not connect the tester to mains power, high-voltage wiring, or a circuit of unknown voltage.
