SML-DSLA-N Enhanced Multifunction Cable Tracer

Product Overview

The SML-DSLA-N is the enhanced tracing model in the SML-DS Series. It combines network-cable tracing, remote wire mapping, PoE checks, 0.01 m-resolution TDR length testing, and tracing for multiple cable types. Compared with the SML-DSLA, its nominal tracing depth for in-wall and underground circuits energized at 220 V or below increases to 200-300 cm for deeper concealed-line inspection.

Typical Applications

• Locating target network cables at patch panels, switch ports, and wiring closets
• Diagnosing wire order and continuity and performing TDR length tests
• Checking PoE port voltage and power type
• Tracing telephone lines, two-core wires, and coaxial cable
• Locating deeper in-wall or underground circuits at 220 V or below

Use and Safety Limits

Connect a PoE cable only to the dedicated PoE test port; the maximum permitted test voltage is 60 V. For length testing, the cable must be de-energized and its far end left open. The coaxial port is for tracing only, not length or continuity testing. Energized-cable tracing requires the specified accessories and is limited to circuits at 220 V or below; never connect the tester to a 380 V circuit. The 200-300 cm figure is nominal; actual depth varies with wall construction, burial depth, and site interference.
