Product Overview
The SML-MP2 combines Ethernet cable tracing, continuity, wire mapping, length, and break testing with an optical power meter and a 650 nm visual fault locator. Its LCD graphically identifies normal wiring, opens, shorts, crossed pairs, and poor termination, while cable calibration helps improve length results across different cable materials.
The optical power meter measures real-time fiber-link power. The visual fault locator provides continuous and flashing output for target-fiber identification, complete-break checks, and assistance in finding visible fault locations.

Safety and Operating Boundaries
- Never look directly into the VFL port, a connected fiber connector, or a fiber end face while the VFL is active.
- Switch ports may be used for tracing; continuity testing does not support non-standard PoE switches. Confirm the power type before connection.
- Recall calibration parameters that match the cable under test before measuring length.
- The SML-MP2 does not support telephone or coaxial cable length testing.
