Product Overview
The SML-MPS6 combines an optical power meter, a 650 nm visual fault locator, and Ethernet continuity testing in one portable instrument. The optical power meter supports linear, logarithmic, and relative displays, six standard wavelengths, and storage for up to 255 records.
The VFL provides continuous and flashing output for target-fiber identification and visible-fault assistance. Ethernet testing identifies normal wiring, opens, shorts, crossed pairs, and poor termination at the main or remote end. The SML-MPS6 does not measure cable length or provide Bluetooth data transfer.

Safety and Operating Boundaries
- Never look directly into the VFL port, a connected fiber connector, or a fiber end face while the VFL is active.
- Ethernet testing supports ordinary switches and standard PoE switches, but not non-standard PoE switches.
- Clean fiber end faces and instrument optical ports before measurement, and select the correct wavelength.
- Charge only from a DC 5 V / 0.5 A supply. Do not use high-voltage fast chargers or unverified power sources.
